Honeymoon Hot Spots : Preferred Vacations and Honeymoons by Lindsey

White Beach on Phuket Island

Honeymoon destinations are no longer limited to the expected beach-scene. Exotic and adventurous honeymoons are on the rise. Although a traditional beach is perfect for some couples, others would rather experience unique destinations, like the beaches of Phuket, an island off the coast of Thailand.  While we do have great recommendations for honeymooners interested in a Caribbean all-inclusive, many couples are asking for a break from the norm to experience a once-in-a-lifetime vacation.

A honeymoon provides the perfect chance to fall further in love while exploring your dream destination, opening the door to a ton of interesting adventures.  Couples enjoy both a thrill and the bragging rights of an incredible trip.  It’s certainly an incredible opportunity to honeymoon in South Africa, where you’ll spend your days on safari and your nights in a private, secluded lodge.  For the extremely adventurous honeymooners, there are tons of unexplored destinations from around the world, like Oman in the Persian Gulf, where you can actually paraglide to your resort!

It’s your first chance to face the world as a married couple and accomplish a dream together.  Maybe you’ve both longed to stay in an overwater bungalow in Tahiti – why not celebrate the first days of married life with a trip to an exotic locale?  While exploring a getaway like this, couples can partake in experiences they might not ordinarily consider, like picnicking on a private motu, a small islet in the middle of a lagoon, or taking a luxury cruise through the Society Islands of Bora Bora, Taha’a, and more.  Participating in notable activities make your honeymoon a much more memorable experience, all the while bringing you closer to your new spouse.

Elaborate and unconventional honeymoons such as these require a lot of planning – check out the blog on How To: Plan Your Dream Honeymoon to make sure you take the right steps, like selecting a good travel agent and booking early.  The planning is worth the effort: you’ll come back with a lifetime of memories and a very happy start to your marriage!
